We recommend dressing up not down. We ask that guests not wear shorts, ripped jeans, hoodies, caps, puffer jackets, hoodies, active wear, sports trainers, flip flops or beach slides. Discreet and tasteful tattoos are acceptable. No visible face, neck or hand tattoos.

Small Groups Policy

If you fail to show up, numbers decrease or cancel without at least 24 hours’ notice, you will be charges a no-show fee. Your reservation will be guaranteed to the value of $50 per person. Please note, the cancellation fee may be used as a credit towards a future booking. To redeem this credit please email downtown@matteosydney.com

Larger Group Policy

If you fail to show up, your group size decreases, or you cancel within 2 days (48 hours) of your reservation, you may be charged a no-show fee. Your reservation will be guaranteed to the value of $50 per person.

Cancellations made more than 2 days before the reservation are free of charge. Guests may modify or cancel online up to 3 days prior to the booking. After this time, please contact the restaurant via email.

Cancellation Fees

Please note that if a cancellation fee was applied to your booking, it can be used as a credit for a future reservation at the same restaurant only (credits cannot be redeemed across venues).

All credits must be verified by our team prior to use, and online bookings will not be accepted when redeeming a credit.

MINORS & RESPONSIBLE ADULT POLICY

Children and guests under 18 are welcome to dine at Matteo when attending a family gathering and accompanied by a responsible adult at any time, excluding bottomless brunch.

Please note that after 7:00pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, minors are only permitted to remain in the venue when dining as part of a family group with a responsible adult present.

A responsible adult is defined as:
a) A parent, step-parent, or legal guardian, or
b) An adult clearly acting in place of a parent (a clear generational difference is required; siblings, friends, or recently turned 18-year-olds do not qualify).

While family gatherings are welcome, we do not accept bookings or walk-ins for groups primarily made up of minors, including:

Groups of minors accompanied by one or more parents where the group is not a family unit
Groups of minors mixed with 18-year-old guests
Groups consisting entirely of minors.

Yes. We just have two small steps at the entrance to our restaurant. Our lovely team are more than happy to assist guests in a wheelchair to get inside.

If our kitchen is not busy, we are more than happy to do takeaways, however, this cannot be guaranteed.

Our non-alcoholic package is exclusively for guests who cannot consume alcohol (due to medical reasons, pregnancy, etc.) and is not a default option for minors

No under 18 year olds can participate in our bottomless brunch package.

Punctuality: We encourage guests to arrive on time as your seating duration is strictly 2 hours. Please note that bottomless service begins at the time of your booking and runs for 2 hours from that time, regardless of late arrival. Should you arrive late, your table will still be required to vacate at the originally scheduled finishing time, and the bottomless package will continue to run from the original booking time.
